With my odd work schedule and my obvious ignorance of what I'm doing when it comes to "fixing up" furniture, I've chosen to do some of the small projects first. I can do these in my room at whatever hour of the night. This has allowed to me watch this weeks episode of The Bachelorette on Hulu, and also keep bugs out of my hair. This morning, though, I went outside and got to work on the window panes and secret present. I thought that I needed to strip the paint off of everything before I sanded it and re-painted it. But then Alan called and we talked about it, and I learned that you don't have to strip the old paint off... That would've been nice to know $9 earlier, but oh well. So, I put the scary stripping liquid away (That stuff really worried me! A few times I was convinced my skin was going to blister off -- I was wearing gloves, but some of it got on my shirt and then I'd rub my shirt-- you get the picture), and got out the electric sander.
Anyhow, last night I stayed up until almost 3am doing this:
Yay!
And then this afternoon when I gave up on the sanding:
Not my favorite thing. I don't like the gap between "If" and "In," but I'm sure I'll get over it eventually.
That's all for now! Heading to work. The goal for tonight is to buy some grey spray paint and get started on my side table. Going to use this for the design:

Thinking a grey background with pastel green stenciling. :)
